What ChatGPT, Netflix, YouTube Premium, Spotify and the rest cost right now in the US, and the cheapest way to pay for each.
The short version
- The big AI plans all cost about $20. Cheapest step down: ChatGPT Go at $8.
- Two plans throw in a second subscription: Google AI Pro comes with YouTube Premium Lite, and Spotify Student comes with Hulu.
- Cheapest big video service: Netflix with ads, $8.99. Netflix and ChatGPT are the two with no yearly plan.
- Students pay $6.99 to $8.99 for Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Premium.

What is the cheapest video streaming subscription in 2026?
Of the big services, Netflix Standard with ads is the cheapest at $8.99 a month in the US, followed by HBO Max Basic with ads at $10.99 and Disney+ with ads at $12.49. The Disney+ and Hulu bundle with ads is $12.99, only 50 cents more than Disney+ alone.
How much do ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro and Google AI Pro cost?
All three cost about $20 a month in the US: ChatGPT Plus is $20, Claude Pro is $20 (or $17 a month if you pay $200 for a year), and Google AI Pro is $19.99. ChatGPT Go is a cheaper $8 option, and Google AI Plus is $9.99.
Which subscriptions have a student discount?
YouTube Premium Student is $8.99, Spotify Premium Student is $6.99 and includes Hulu, and Apple Music Student is $6.99. Disney+ also has a $6.49 student price for its Disney+ and Hulu bundle with ads.
Which subscriptions can I pay for yearly to save money?
